Skylar Stecker is blessing us early in 2019 – by dropping the lead single off her new album, Redemption.
The album will be out on March 15th, and when you pre-order on iTunes, you’ll automatically get the acoustic version of “Don’t Test Me”.
“When people use the word ‘redemption,’ it’s usually in the context of ‘wanting redemption,’ or ‘waiting for redemption,’ but what I say in the song is: ‘I’ll be my own redemption’….I’m not going to sit around and wait for things to happen for me,” Skylar shared about the inspiration behind the album and song.
She added, “Instead, I am choosing to stay positive, work hard and push forward regardless of what’s going on around me.”

“I have a lot of music in store for you and ‘Let It Pour’ is only the beginning of my truth,” the 16-year-old singer wrote on her Instagram.
Skylar adds, “It’s been a hard year and in the past I used to think that if I shared my fears and insecurities that it would come across as weak….but I’ve grown as an artist and as a human being and learned that being vulnerable is actually a strength and that if I’m going to be true to myself, then I also need to write and release music that is a true representation of who I am and what I’m feeling and to not fall victim to others opinions of what ‘me’ should be.”
