The trailer for Step Up High Water is here!

The show stars Lauryn McClain as Janelle in the 10-episode series, opposite Naya Rivera and Ne-Yo.

Janelle is an ambitious dancer who, along with her twin brother Tal (Petrice Jones), was uprooted from suburban Ohio to live with Uncle Al (Faizon Love) in Atlanta.

The series centers on Atlanta’s famed High Water Performing Arts School, which is run by Sage Odom (Ne-Yo) and will touch on real issues around diversity and complex relationships and the competitive dance scene.

Marcus Mitchell, Jade Chynoweth, Carlito Olivero, Terrence Green, R. Marcos Taylor, Eric Graise and Kendra Oyesanya also star in the show, which will premiere on YouTube Red on January 31st, 2018.

Get ready for a lot more from the Step Up franchise – the dance film is becoming a television series to be aired on YouTube Red next year!

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, who starred in the 2006 film, will be executive producing the series, which is set to debut in early 2017.

“This is the best place to put Step Up of all the places I’ve been recently, from a brand perspective and from an audience potential perspective,” YouTube content chief Susanne Daniels said in a statement (via THR). “Dance is a hugely successful genre on YouTube.”

YouTube Red is a subscription based service that costs $10 a month.
