Oh no! Jeremy is leaving Mystic Falls!

Exec producer and show runner Julie Plec just confirmed that Steven R. McQueen is indeed leaving The Vampire Diaries later this season.

“We’re actually saying goodbye to one of our characters in the 14th episode,” she dished to TVGuide. “[Jeremy] is going to art school. We’ll see what his next path and journey is, [but Steven R. McQueen] is all grown-up and ready to move on, so we’re saying goodbye to him as a series regular. We got him a cake and dressed as superheroes and gave him a big party!”

Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) takes a dip in the lake with Sarah (Gabrielle Walsh) in this new still from tonight’s new The Vampire Diaries.

In “Welcome To Paradise”, in an attempt to bring some fun back into their lives, Elena (Nina Dobrev) persuades Caroline (Candice Accola) to meet her at the swimming hole where she plans to introduce her to Liam (Marco James).

Tyler (Michael Trevino), still working on controlling his anger issues, asks Liv (Penelope Mitchell) for a favor and is surprised when she makes an unexpected confession. Stefan (Paul Wesley) arrives back in Mystic Falls looking for Enzo (Michael Malarkey) and is caught off guard when he notices a strange change in Elena.

Meanwhile, at the lake, Enzo’s actions cause Matt (Zach Roerig) to make a startling revelation, and Jeremy makes a discovery about the anti-magic spell that could potentially put Elena’s life in danger.

The brand new season six poster for The Vampire Diaries is here and Stefan (Paul Wesley) is holding hands with Elena (Nina Dobrev)!

Of course, it may not be a romantic thing. It could symbolize them leaning on one another as they try to move on from Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) deaths. Speaking of whom, the unlikely allies are seen locking arms too, which sends a pretty strong message that they will be bonding wherever they are.

Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice Accola), Tyler (Michael Trevino), Matt (Zach Roerig), Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), Alaric (Matt Davis), and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) are also featured.

Nina Dobrev shows a little skin in the new portrait photos for the upcoming season of The Vampire Diaries released on Monday (September 15).

The 25-year-old actress was joined by co-stars Candice Accola, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Michael Malarkey, Steven R. McQueen, Zach Roerig, Matt Davis and Michael Trevino for the pics.

Alaric (Matt Davis) sits down at the Mystic Grill opposite Caroline (Candice Accola) in these first look photos from the upcoming season six premiere of The Vampire Diaries.

In “I’ll Remember,” after spending the past four months coping with the loss of Damon (Ian Somerhalder) in an unconventional and potentially dangerous way, Elena (Nina Dobrev) has returned to Whitmore College for the start of sophomore year.

Unable to move on, Caroline is desperate to find a way to reverse the anti-magic spell the Travelers have put over Mystic Falls and grows frustrated when her calls to Stefan (Paul Wesley) go unanswered.

Tyler (Michael Trevino), who is human once again, has a run-in at a football tailgate that tests his ability to control his anger, while Matt (Zach Roerig) worries that Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is dealing with the loss of Bonnie (Kat Graham) in a self-destructive way.

Alaric, who is struggling to adjust to his new life as a vampire, finds himself in an awkward situation when he meets Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe), a beautiful doctor at the university hospital. Last, while everyone believes Stefan is off tracking a lead to get Damon and Bonnie back, Elena is shocked when she learns the truth of what he has really been up to.

Chloe Moretz happily poses with her award while attending the 2014 Annual Saturn Awards held at The Castaway on Thursday (June 26) in Burbank, Calif.

The 17-year-old actress, who won Best Performance by a Younger Actor for her role in Carrie, was joined at the event by Teen Wolf actress Holland Roden, Joey King, Avan Jogia, and Vampire Diaries star Steven R. McQueen with his girlfriend Olivia Pickren.

Joey accepted the award for Best Horror Film in behalf of her hit film The Conjuring.

Steven R. McQueen and Kendrick Sampson suit up nicely for the 2014 Thirst Gala held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday night (June 24) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Steven recently opened up about Spike TV’s documentary I Am Steve McQueen, which is about his grandfather, who he was named after.

“I saw the documentary for the first time last night. It was incredible,” Steven told The Wrap. “I never got to meet my grandfather and I’m sure the younger audiences don’t know much about him. So, it was cool for myself to learn about him, and hopefully some people that watch.”
