Tyler Hoechlin Looks Super Buff In New Super Suit On 'Superman & Lois' Set

Tyler Hoechlin films a scene for his upcoming new series Superman & Lois on Wednesday (December 9) in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The 33-year-old star of the show was seen looking pretty buff in his new super suit.

Earlier in the day, the first look image of Tyler in the brand new suit was revealed.

“Up, up and away. #SupermanAndLois,” he captioned the photo on his Instagram.

In the new show, “after years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters wreaking havoc on Metropolis, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the world’s most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent (Hoechlin) and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch), come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.

Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois must also concern themselves with whether or not their sons Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin) could inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older. Returning to Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui), a local loan officer who also happens to be Clark’s first love, and her Fire Chief husband Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez).

The adults aren’t the only ones rediscovering old friendships in Smallville as the Kent sons are reacquainted with Lana and Kyle’s rebellious daughter, Sarah (Inde Navarrette). Of course, there’s never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois’ father, General Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh) looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment’s notice. Meanwhile, Superman and Lois’ return to idyllic Smallville is set to be upended when a mysterious stranger (Wolé Parks) enters their lives.

Be sure to tune in to the series premiere on Tuesday, February 23rd on The CW!

Tyler Hoechlin Gets New Suit For First Season of 'Superman & Lois'!

Tyler Hoechlin Gets New Suit For First Season of 'Superman & Lois'!

Superman’s suit just got an upgrade!

Warner Bros and The CW just unveiled Tyler Hoechlin‘s new supersuit for the upcoming series Superman & Lois.

“I find that the new suit is representative of the show. Just as this suit is unique and set apart from the ones that preceded it, the story we’re telling about Clark/Superman at this point in his life is unique and something we’ve never seen before,” Tyler said in a statement.

“I appreciate the opportunity to wear the suit and the responsibility that comes with it. But it’s always interesting when I’m asked how I feel about ‘my new suit,’ because I’ve always felt that the suit doesn’t belong to me; it belongs to everyone that finds some kind of meaning in that suit, in the symbol on the chest. I just happen to be the one wearing it,” he continued.

“I come from the world of baseball and a line of coaches that always preached that the name on the front of the jersey is more important than the one on the back,” Tyler shared. “Because when you wear that jersey, it represents not only you, but your entire team, and everyone that has ever worn that jersey that came before you. So when I wear the suit, that’s what it means to me. It represents everything that Superman stands for and has stood for, for almost a century now. And I look forward to carrying on that tradition.”

The new suit was designed by Laura Jean Shannon, and it was built by her L.A.–based Supersuits team in conjunction with Creative Character Engineering.

“We got Superman into some custom athletic inspired Super-Boots as a ‘jumping off point’ and focused on a new neckline and cape to maximize the billowing and movement we all love to see in the books and films that have defined this character for generations,” she said of the suit. “A streamlined muscle structure and updated paint job combined with some dynamic design lines and a sculpted armored belt all took his established custom fabric into a new direction to solidify the new look for Superman in Superman & Lois.”

The CW Shares First 'Superman & Lois' Footage, Possible New 'Arrowverse' Name

The CW Shares First 'Superman & Lois' Footage, Possible New 'Arrowverse' Name

We finally get a teaser clip for the upcoming new series Superman & Lois!

The new show is one of the latest to join the Arrowverse, with Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch in the title roles.

You can catch the Superman & Lois clips at the end of a new CW video about the multiverse of shows, including the start of it all, Arrow, as well as Supergirl, The Flash, Black Lightning, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, and DC’s Stargirl.

The promo also mentions the name “The CWverse.” Could this be the new name the network is going with since Arrow has ended?

Stephen Amell seemingly saw the apparent new title and tweeted, “It’s the Berlantiverse.”

TVLine did point out that this actually isn’t the first time The CW has referred to the Arrowverse as The CWverse. A promo was released in the summer of 2019 where they also called it The CWverse.

'Superman & Lois' & 'Batwoman' To Be Only Arrowverse Crossover Next Year

'Superman & Lois' & 'Batwoman' To Be Only Arrowverse Crossover Next Year

There’s going to be a small Arrowverse crossover next season!

Normally, there’s a huge crossover event, much like Crisis On Infinite Earths last year, between all the DC shows, but they’re scaling back on the next one.

Superman & Lois and Batwoman will be the only two shows taking part in a two hour crossover event, CW President Mark President confirms, via Deadline.

“We’re still working on it. It will be a smaller event than usual, we’re only planning a two-hour event. We are talking about doing Superman and Batwoman together. There’s a lot of characters coming from our other shows,” he said.

The synopsis for Superman & Lois was also revealed. Click inside to read the full rundown… More Here! »

The CW Reveals Schedule For 2020/2021 Season

The CW Reveals Schedule For 2020/2021 Season

The CW has just announced when all of your favorite shows will be coming back!

The network unveiled the schedule for the Fall 2020/2021 season, which will actually kick off in January 2021, Deadline reports.

CW President Mark Pedowitz shared that the late start won’t affect the number of episodes, and the episodes that weren’t able to be filmed due to productions being shut down, will be filmed and included in the new seasons.

Most shows will continue with the same dates and times, with a few changes.

New shows Superman & Lois and Walker have been inserted into the schedule. Superman & Lois will air on Tuesday nights after The Flash, and Walker has taken over Supernatural‘s Thursday night time slot.

Another notable change is Charmed, which will move from Friday nights back to it’s original Sunday nights, taking the place of Supergirl, which is being put on hold, likely due to Melissa Benoist‘s pregnancy.

Supernatural‘s final episodes will also be filmed and those will air this fall in it’s regular time slot, Thursday night at 8/7c.

No word yet on when just announced Kung Fu and Republic of Sarah will air.
