Tahj Mowry pops his collar in this new shot from May 2015 issue of NKD mag.
The 28-year-old actor chatted about Baby Daddy, working on a successful sitcom and his music. Check it:
On acting in a sitcom: “It’s hard work because you have to remember more things than you would for a film because a film takes more time, so you can do smaller sections of the movie or of the show whereas sitcom you’re doing full scenes, but that’s why it’s fun and it keeps you on your toes. I like to try different things every take, like add and change things without telling the writers sometimes. The writers allow us to be free, and the audience loves it because, you know, they’re sitting there for a while and take after take it can get boring. So you want to change it up a little bit.”
On what’s next for Tucker on Baby Daddy: “We were bouncing around ideas, I think it would be so cool to have Kristin Chenoweth play my mom because obviously I’m mixed — my mom’s black and my dad’s white – so we could totally do that, and she’s freaking awesome.”
On writing his own music: “It’s been really cool because I didn’t really know that I could write songs, I used to be kind of afraid just because it’s kind of vulnerable and you don’t know if people will sing along. I just forced myself into writing it on my own because I did want, essentially, control over it.”
Check out Tahj Mowry putting on some smooth moves in his brand new music video for debut single “Flirt”!
“I think anybody can be a good flirt if you’re confident in what you’re flirting about. It’s all about being yourself. If you’re funny, be funny. If you’re quirky, be quirky. You’ll get that special somebody–just keep flirting. With [apps] like Tinder, you lose all the fun of going out and flirting, and the song is all about “liquid courage” and how sometimes alcohol can make it a little bit easier,” the 28-year-old entertainer recently shared to Vibe about the single.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF Tahj Mowry’s new music video for “Flirt”?
The 28-year-old actor opened up to the mag about both his acting and singing career. Check it:
On his musical inspirations: “Definitely Benny Crawford, Michael Jackson, Sam Sparro, and Usher. There are a lot of great musicians out there and they all inspire me.”
On his favorite character he’s played: “I would say Tucker from Baby Daddy. I had fun with it! He is pretty much my first character that I’ve created from scratch. He is hilarious and it is fun to play Tucker! It is fun to pretend to be rude as Tucker because I am originally not a rude person at all!”
On his dream role: “I would say something that is totally opposite of who I am. Maybe someone a little bit darker, heavier, and greedier just to show my different range of acting. Definitely someone who is really different from myself.”
