Danielle Rose Russell Promises No To Disappoint With New Series 'Legacies'

Danielle Rose Russell Promises No To Disappoint With New Series 'Legacies'

Danielle Rose Russell is already looking ahead to the next chapter in The Vampire Diaries fandom – Legacies.

The 18-year-old actress stars as Hope Marshall-Mikaelson and will continue to on the new series, premiering next year.

“Thank you @TheCW for giving me the chance to continue Hope’s story…we won’t disappoint!” she wrote on Twitter after her first Upfront event this week.

Late last month, Danielle was hoping for the best with the spinoff, telling Teen Vogue that she’d “love to play this character for a long time. I really fell in love with her.”

If you missed it, you can see what else showrunner Julie Plec shared about the show.

'Riverdale's Core Four Friendship Might Be Threatened in Season 3 Because Of This

'Riverdale's Core Four Friendship Might Be Threatened in Season 3 Because Of This

We’ve gotten a little preview on what will come with season three on Riverdale – but showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is warning us more.

The core four – Archie, Veronica, Betty and Jughead – might be torn apart even more than they were in season two; and it will all be because Archie was arrested in the finale.

“In a weird way, Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead, they’re so different they shouldn’t be friends, really,” he shared with EW. “They’re all such different archetypes, as we’ve talked about and dramatized a bunch.”

“Archie is like the everyman glue that holds them together. He’s friends with Jughead, he’s friends with Betty, he’s dating Veronica. Jughead and Veronica don’t necessarily have a friendship. It feels like their friendship grows out of Archie,” Roberto continues.

Archie’s arrest brings more of a conflict than he even realizes, too.

“The idea of Archie being thrust into a situation that potentially takes him away from the core four does threaten the integrity of the core four. Veronica and Hiram ended the season at odds. I don’t think this is going to help that at all. It is going to set up a big central conflict in season 3.”

Riverdale season 2 will start streaming on Netflix next week!

Next 'Arrowverse' Crossover Will Bring in Batwoman!

Next 'Arrowverse' Crossover Will Bring in Batwoman!

After dropping Bruce Wayne’s name all over the Arrowverse, it’s finally happening – kind of.

Actually, it gets even better because The CW announced today that BATWOMAN is coming to the Arrowverse for this year’s epic crossover event.

“We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ll be doing another crossover event this fall on the CW, and we’ll be introducing a new character,” Stephen Amell announced at the CW Upfronts this morning.

He continued, “For the very first time appearing, we’ll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific. The crossover is going to make it to air in December. I need to leave right now and start filming it.”

Batwoman is also known as Kathy Kane in the comics.

“We are adding the city of Gotham into the Arrowverse,” CW boss Mark Pedowitz added. “This will be another full-throttled, action-packed event.”

'Riverdale' Showrunner Talks What's Coming in Season 3

'Riverdale' Showrunner Talks What's Coming in Season 3

Riverdale wrapped up their season two with an explosive and shocking finale – we mean, Archie got arrested!!!

Although it’s only been a few hours since the finale, we need to know what’s happening in season three right this moment.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa opened up about all the possibilities the upcoming season could hold — and it’s dark.

“In season three we’ll see a Riverdale that has fallen to the dark side – you can call Riverdale Sin City in a sense,” he shared with ET. “On some level, this next season will be able how our characters try to maintain their decency and optimism while living in the once all American town, which has now descended into chaos and become a full fledged crime town.”

Well, that’s heavy.

But, on a lighter note, there may be a new relationship to obsess over – Kevin and Moose!

“My hope is that it continues,” Roberto said of the relationship. “It’d be nice to see Kevin in a romance again.”

However, they’ve still got a “big cloud looming over them, which is the death of Midge. Which is kind of par for the course on Riverdale. But I’m rooting for them. I hope it’s more than just a moment of passion.”
