We are so excited about this news!

Beth Reekles, the author behind The Kissing Booth, is coming out with a sequel book!

The announcement comes just after Netflix confirmed a second film, with Joey King, Joel Courtney and Jacob Elordi.

Here’s the summary for the book:

Elle Evans seems to have finally tamed hotter-than-hot bad boy Noah Flynn, but now they’re facing a new challenge. Noah’s 3,000 miles away at Harvard, which means they’re officially a long-distance couple – and it’s tough. After all, there’s only so much texts and calls can satisfy – and when Elle sees a post which suggests Noah’s getting friendly with someone else, she’s devastated.

On top of that, it’s hard to ignore new boy Levi. He’s gentle, sweet, cute – and definitely interested in Elle.

With her heart on the line, what’s a girl to do?

Join Elle, Noah, Lee and all your favourite Kissing Booth characters for another amazing romantic story that’s sure to have you swooning.

“The Kissing Booth 2″ book will be out on May 11th!

Joey King Dishes On When Or If a 'Kissing Booth' Sequel Is Happening

Joey King Dishes On When Or If a 'Kissing Booth' Sequel Is Happening

Joey King doesn’t know anything, and we mean anything, about a sequel for her Netflix movie, The Kissing Booth.

The movie, which was the #1 original film the streaming service put out in 2018, still has yet to be greenlit for a second film.

“Right now, we’re not really sure. [The cast] would love for that to happen, but everything is still up in the air. We’re still waiting on [Netflix],” Joey revealed to TV Guide during the Television Critics Association this week.

Um, what?! How could this movie NOT get a sequel?!

Get on it, Netflix!

Where Is 'The Kissing Booth's Sequel Announcement? Author Beth Reekles Offers Up Possible Storyline

Last summer, we were blessed with The Kissing Booth, starring Joey King, Joel Courtney and Jacob Elordi.

Well, it’s officially 2019 and we’re still waiting on news about a sequel.

The movie, which is still streaming, was revealed as the most watched original movie on Netflix for the year – so why don’t we have a sequel happening?

Many fans, and author Beth Reekles, are still wondering about that. While she doesn’t have a reason at all, she does have some ideas about how a sequel could happen.

“I’m not a hundred percent sure, but I think there’s a couple ways that [a sequel] could potentially work,” Beth shared with IBT recently. “For instance, if I wrote a second book, there wouldn’t necessarily be a second movie, and equally I think there could be a second movie without me having a second book. But, at the minute, I’m just kind of crossing my fingers and hoping that someone decides that there will be one, because it did pretty well as a movie.”

She adds that it would be fun for a sequel, although she doesn’t regret her ending for the story.

“It might not happen, it might, I just have to kind of cross my fingers and see what happens.”

Joey King is doing things right and celebrating the fact that The Kissing Booth was Netflix‘s most re-watched original film with this video.

In the funny Instagram visual, Joey actually pulls down co-star Joel Courtney‘s pants before a game.

“In honor of #TheKissingBooth being the most rewatched @netflix movie of 2018, here’s a video of me being a complete and total 5 year old little boy,” she wrote. “Sorry Joel.”

'The Kissing Booth' & 'To All The Boys I've Loved Before' Were Netflix's Most-Rewatched Original Movies of 2018

The Kissing Booth and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before were two films that not only dominated JJJ this year, but were also Netflix‘s most rewatched original movies of the year too!

Netflix released the short list of films that viewers watched, and rewatched again and again and we are hardly surprised.

The two films join Roxanne Roxanne on “The Movies We Fell in Love with This Year” list, which was based on films released between January 1st to November 28th, with the highest rewatch rate and was based on global viewing. Ranking on this list has no relation to overall viewing.
