Katherine McNamara Heads to 'Maze Runner: Death Cure' Set To Start Filming!

It didn’t take long for Katherine McNamara to go from one set to the next.

The Shadowhunters actress, who just wrapped filming on season two of the show, is headed to Vancouver now to resume filming on The Maze Runner: Death Cure.

“A nomad’s life for me… From hunting shadows to running mazes…” Kat wrote on her Instagram, hinting that she was indeed heading to start filming more as Sonya in the upcoming film.

“Her character does stay true to the book character in the sense of who she is as a person and her fight and her spark and her rebellion,” Kat shared about her character Sonya.

She adds, “I’m used to playing the high school popular girl or the girl next door. And then you jump into a character of, ‘Oh! This girl has been living in a post-apocalyptic world for quite a while, having escaped from being, basically, a lab rat in one of the most horrific situations anyone could ever be in. And oh, by the way, she’s 17.’”

If you missed it, check out just when the next film will be out in theaters on JJJ!

Dylan O’Brien will reportedly be back at work filming The Maze Runner: The Death Cure by mid-May!

The 24-year-old actor’s co-star Giancarlo Esposito gave an update on his condition following the freak accident that left him hospitalized a couple weeks ago in Vancouver, Canada.

“He’s healing very well,” Giancarlo told E! News. “He got put together a couple of weeks ago…He’s one tough cookie.”

While production was immediately shut down, Giancarlo says shooting will pick back up on May 15.

“He got his bell rung,” he added. “I would imagine many who witnessed thought that was it…[But] he’s a survivor. The one good thing about Dylan that I think is going to help him get back on schedule with us very soon is he has a great attitude.”
