Speaking with Rollacoaster magazine recently, the 17-year-old actress revealed just how she found out she won the role of Clara.
“I was actually in the shower when my mom ran into the bathroom and told me Lasse [Hallström, director] was on the phone,” she shared. “He asked me if I would be Clara and, of course, I said yes. I was just ridiculously excited to go on a new adventure.”
Mackenzie added that her experience on the film was “amazing. It was just like ‘wow, we’re doing this!’ The costumes, the hair, the make-up, the set design; everything is so detailed and absolutely stunning.”
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms opens in theaters nationwide on November 2nd.
Mackenzie Foy, aka Princess Clara, challenges the laws of physics in the final trailer for The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
In the flick, Clara receives a key that holds a priceless gift – a golden thread that leads her to the coveted key—which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world.
It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip, a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets.
Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger, to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world.
The 15-year-old actress, who you know from The Twilight Series: Breaking Dawn, will join Misty Copeland for the live action movie as Clara.
The film will be based on E.T.A. Hoffman‘s Christmas Eve tale about a young girl who finds a Nutcracker doll with her family’s presents and is given the responsibility to take care it. At night, the Nutcracker comes to life, along with an evil Mouse King who introduce the little girl to the magical world of toys.
