Charli D’Amelio is in the 2021 Guinness Book of World Records!!
The 16-year-old TikTok star, you guessed it, holds the title for something related to TikTok.
Charli shared her spot in the new book, which is now available to purchase in select stores, in a video on her Instagram story.
She holds the title for “Most Followers on TikTok.”
“Charli D’Amelio (USA) became the first person with 50 million TikTok followers on 22 Apr 2020. By 30 Apr, she had 52,037,851 fans. She reached the top spot in just 10 months, having begun uploading dance clips to the video platform in summer 2019,” the book reads.
Zach King is also taking the spot in the Guinness World Records book for TikTok’s most followed male.
If you missed it, TikTok has partnered with a new company for US operations so it won’t be banned by the President.
Microsoft has lost out on the bid to purchase the US operations rights to TikTok!
It was announced over the weekend that computer technology corporation Oracle and the video app’s parent company ByteDance will go into partnership for the US operations.
Microsoft, Oracle and even Walmart were all in talks to take over the operations, and had until September 20th to come to an agreement as President Trump had signed an executive order to ban the app in the US over safety concerns.
“We are confident our proposal would have been good for TikTok’s users, while protecting national security interests,” Microsoft said in a blog post. “To do this, we would have made significant changes to ensure the service met the highest standards for security, privacy, online safety, and combatting disinformation, and we made these principles clear in our August statement.”
In case you missed it, TikTok had previously announced that it was going to seek legal action against the President and his executive order.
Millie Bobby Brown is promoting her new movie Enola Holmes on her TikTok page!
The 16-year-old actress recreated the first 15 seconds of the trailer in a new video.
“Now where to begin? My mother named me Enola, which backwards, spells alone. And yet, we were always together. And it was wonderful,” she says in the clip.
Millie even used karate-like kicks at the part of the video where it’s actually her and her mom (played by Helena Bonham Carter) hitting a ball back and forth. Check it out below!
