In “Coronation”, With France in a state of famine, as well as religious and political unrest, Mary (Kane) looks for a way to feed the people, risking the wrath of a vengeful Lord Narcisse (Craig Parker); and Francis (Regbo) is preoccupied by the harrowing suspicion that his dead father’s spirit can possess the living and is haunting Francis as revenge for his murder.
Meanwhile, as Catherine (Megan Follows) makes excessive and lavish preparations for a coronation ceremony to give the impression of stability to the realm, Bash (Torrance Coombs) confronts the reality of a country plagued by fear, bankruptcy, and murder.
Mary doesn’t look all too pleased with Francis in this new still from tonight’s all-new Reign.

Reign returns for season to on Thursday, October 2 @ 9PM on The CW!
The new poster for The CW’s Reign is insanely gorgeous, don’t ya think? Way too gorgeous.
Adelaide Kane (aka Mary Queen of Scots, and Queen of France) takes center stage on the new poster with on-screen husband Toby Regbo and mother-in-law Megan Follows stand behind her.
Executive producer and co-creator Laurie McCarthy chatted with BuzzFeed about the new season and shed some light on the storylines we’ll see. Check it:
On Mary & Queen Catherine: “We’ll see their relationship twist and turn a lot into many different iterations this year, It will be less black and white than Catherine simply wanting Mary gone, but there will be moments — that will be earned by story — where Catherine is most definitely going to want Mary gone.”
On Kenna & Bash: “Bash is going to be drawn closer and closer into Francis’ rule. His brother is going to lean on him a lot, and the more [Bash] tries to protect and defend his brother, the more complicated his life is going to become. She’s [Kenna] so unedited and I love that, but Kenna’s incredibly ambitious and a little bit reckless — and I don’t see that changing because she’s happily married.”
On Mary & Francis: “It’s [the baby] a thorn in their marriage and Francis will have a bond with Lola that isn’t necessarily sexual — although it clearly was at one point. Francis is eager to have a family and it puts a lot of pressure on Mary, who historically had incredible difficulty conceiving. And the harder his job gets, the more pleasure he’ll take in simpler things, and [his son] is a simpler relationship.”
Reign is back on October 2nd @ 9PM ET/PT on the CW.

The two actors were joined by co-star Megan Fellows and executive producer Laurie McCarthy to chat up the upcoming season of the CW show.
“Season 2 is very much about what goes on beyond the castle walls,” Laurie shared (via TVLine) with emphasis on the plaque coming. “Not everyone will survive it, among our people as well as a percentage of the regional population.”
And what about a baby for the newlyweds? “There’s a chance for anything. They’re going to try to make it happen,” she added.
FYI: Adelaide is wearing a Topshop dress, clutch and jewelry with Shoe Cult by Nasty Gal shoes.
Adelaide Kane and her ladies in waiting try to keep warm while playing in the snow in this new still from Reign.
