Landry Bender, Riverdale's Jordan Connor & More Join Hulu's 'Looking For Alaska' Series

Six new faces are joining Hulu’s Looking For Alaska series – and some a super familiar!

Landry Bender, Jordon Connor, Denny Love, Jay Lee, Sofia Vassillieva, and Uriah Shelton are all set as series regulars in the eight-ep show, which also stars Kristine Froseth and Charlie Plummer.

Looking for Alaska is told through the eyes of teenager Miles “Pudge” Halter (Plummer), as he enrolls in boarding school to try to gain a deeper perspective on life. He falls in love with a girl, Alaska Young (Froseth), and after her unexpected death, he and his close friends attempt to uncover the truth behind her death and make sense of it.

Denny is The Colonel aka Chip Martin is a short (and very smart) muscular tank of a young man. He’s a scholarship student and under orders from his mother to get a good enough education. He’s an enemy of the lacrosse jocks and insanely loyal to his friends.

Jay plays Takumi, who is famous for knowing all the gossip and effortlessly bounces back between the two groups of friends but is ever loyal to The Colonel and Alaska.

Landry will play Sara, The Colonel’s girlfriend. She is also short and angry – but her rage is only directed at The Colonel because he manages to do something that pisses her off pretty much every time they interact. She and The Colonel are one of those bickering couples, who spend their lives hollering at each other.

Sofia is Lara, a cute, shy and sweet girl from Romania, who develops a crush on Miles.

Uriah will play Longwell, a handsome, rich and entitled jock at the school. A rich kid, he despises The Colonel and all of his non-jock friends, making their lives as miserable as possible.

Jordan will play Kevin, another “Weekday Warrior” lacrosse bro. He follows Longwell’s lead in everything and blames The Colonel when a member of their clique gets expelled.

GMW's Uriah Shelton Gets Restraining Order After He Allegedly Kicks Friend in Stomach

Uriah Shelton has been slapped with a restraining order after he allegedly kicked a friend in the stomach, TMZ reports.

The friend-with-benefits claims that the former Girl Meets World and 13 Reasons Why actor and she had argued after blocking him from getting into his truck and he reacted by kicking her in the mid-section.

According to the documents, the blow caused “inflamed intestines and bruising to muscles.”

A rep for Uriah shared that he would “never harm another person and is currently unavailable for comment.”

'Girl Meets World's Josh Matthews Shares The Best Lesson He Learned From The Show

When word came that Girl Meets World was actually, truly not going to live on, we were heartbroken.

JJJ spoke to Uriah Shelton about the legacy of the show.

“[It was] Pretty sad actually,” he shared about the cancellation. “For the fans…ever since I joined the show I’ve received such overwhelming support from a multitude of amazing boy, girls, men, and women. It was sad to see something they love so much end so soon, but then again, that’s the business we’re in.”

Uriah also shared the one lesson that he’ll always hold close to his heart: “Hold your true friends close.”

“True friends will uplift you and stay with you for life,” he says. “Even if you go through periods where you don’t hang out as much you’ll always be able to rely on them, and everyone needs someone like that.”

Uriah Shelton Freaked Out While Working With 'Guardians of the Galaxy's Drax On His New Movie

Uriah Shelton took on a really different role than most fans would expect in Enter The Warriors Gate.

The 20-year-old actor, who we know as Josh Matthews on Girl Meets World, stars in the new movie as Jack, a teen who is magically transported to China and learns to convert his video game skills into those of a Kung Fu warrior.

The flick actually had him working with Guardian of the Galaxy‘s Dave Bautista — and yes, he was starstruck.

“He’s Drax The Destroyer!” Uriah dished to JJJ.

He adds, “Guardians is one of my favorite movies so it was hilarious, I would go into my trailer in between shot set ups, watch Guardians, then go and do a fight scene with Dave. Kind of surreal.”

You might have not even noticed that Uriah Shelton was in 13 Reasons Why.

The actor stars as Pratters in the Netflix series, a background character who makes himself known when he decides that he doesn’t want to hear about suicide awareness anymore in the Peers Connection class.

“Pratters isn’t really malicious like everyone thinks he is,” Uriah tells JJJ exclusively.

“He’s just immature. He hasn’t learned to care about others appropriately yet, but I do like his character because, unlike some of the other characters on the show, he’s honest. And that’s a hard quality to come by in the world of 13 Reasons Why.”

Uriah actually didn’t even audition for Pratters, but was on the first ride out when the producers called him.

“I actually auditioned for two different characters, but I didn’t really fit them,” Uriah says. “I guess the producers liked me though, because I got a call one day asking if I would come up to San Rafael where they were filming to play Pratters.”

He adds, “I loved the project, so even though it was such a small role, I was eager to go.”

Although he’s mainly in the background, you should know about Pratters, because he may be in season two: “I honestly don’t know if Pratters will be returning for season 2, but I’d definitely like to see more of him. I may be a tiny bit biased though.”

We also talked with Uriah about the show’s impact on society and about all the criticism the show seems to be getting lately.

The biggest takeaway for him is to “realize what your actions and words do to other people.”

“Once you do realize the effect they have on others, don’t use them for the wrong reason. Don’t manipulate, abuse, or hurt anyone with them. And if you do accidentally hurt someone, make things right with them. It may be hard, but it’s the right thing to do.”

You can catch Uriah in episodes 1 and 4 on 13 Reasons Why, streaming on Netflix now.
