KJ Apa and Casey Cott almost kiss in these new photos from the set of Riverdale on Thursday (October 8) in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The stars of the show returned to work after production was shut down for a week, due to COVID testing delays.
Pregnant Vanessa Morgan was also seen out in public for the first time since announcing her pregnancy over the summer.
Also spotted on set that day were Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, Madelaine Petsch and Charles Melton.
Last week, it was announced that Drew Ray Tanner got promoted to series regular, and another new series regular was cast as Pop Tate’s granddaughter Tabitha.
The upcoming fifth season of Riverdale, which will feature a seven year time jump, is set to premiere in January 2021 in it’s 8pm Wednesday night time slot!

Vanessa Morgan and Madelaine Petsch have finally reunited!!
The BFFs have been separated throughout quarantine and shared a new photo back together as Choni on the set of Riverdale.
“back w bae 🥵🥰,” Madelaine captioned the photo on her Instagram, with Vanessa commenting, “💖👯♀️”
Vanessa, who is pregnant with her first child, also shared new pics on her account of her back in Toni Topaz’s signature pink hair.
“Toni T ✌🏽First Day Back. 6 Months later & 6 months🤰🏽,” she captioned one photo.
If you missed it, one of the first photos from the upcoming prom episode of Riverdale was shared by showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and it featured none other than Vanessa and Madelaine.
Filming on the fifth season of the hit CW series just began this week, and the first scene being filmed was KJ Apa shirtless. Check it out!
Vanessa Morgan has returned to the set of Riverdale!
The 28-year-old actress, who plays Toni Topaz on the series, was one of the first of the cast back on set.
Vanessa shared a video on her Instagram story of Pop’s diner, writing, “Crazy being back here after 6 months..,” along with a slate emoji. See below!
She also shared a photo from inside a trailer of a pack of testing kits.
“First Covid test before I start filming. Have to do this 3 x a week on set,” she wrote with an upside down smile emoji. Check it out in the gallery!
The rest of the cast who was in LA still has another week left of quarantining before they can return to set. Madelaine Petsch, Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes seem to be quarantining together as they’ve shared videos together on their Instagram stories.

Just over a month ago, Vanessa revealed that she is pregnant with her first child, also sharing a sonogram image of his foot. No word yet on how her pregnancy will affect the upcoming season. The show will do a time jump in season seven, so it could very well get written into the show. We’ll have to wait and find out!
Fans got a sneak peek at the upcoming prom episode of Riverdale!
The episode was originally supposed to be one of the final episodes of season four, but due to the pandemic, it will be part of the beginning of season five.
Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared an image of Madelaine Petsch and Vanessa Morgan on Madelaine‘s birthday.
“Also, couldn’t resist a sneak peek at Prom Night (our first episode back) with these two beautiful ladies! Rest assured, ALL the queens will reigning SUPREMELY next season! #Riverdale ❤️🚢💨💥🌹🐍💃🏻🌈🎭💋,” he captioned the pic.
In case you missed it, he also announced that season five is officially in pre-production, and in another birthday post, Vanessa shared that she can’t wait to be on set with Madelaine in two weeks.
“Lmao and for you preggo belly massages I’m gonna make you do everyday at work in 2 weeks,” she captioned a photo of the two.
There is no word yet on how Riverdale will tackle Vanessa‘s pregnancy, if they will write it in or just hide her baby bump.

Just a few days after Vanessa announced she was expecting her first baby, it was revealed that her husband Michael Kopech had filed for divorce a month before, after just five months of marriage.

It was just revealed that the 28-year-old actress’ husband Michael Kopech has filed for divorce.
The Chicago White Sox pitcher filed the papers in his home county, Morris County, Texas, on June 19th after just five months of marriage, the Chicago Tribune reports.
This news comes just a few days after Vanessa revealed that she is pregnant with her first child.
Michael was noticeably absent from all the photos and videos she posted, and she also didn’t mention him in her announcement post.
“Lil one you were made with so much love & already exude a light so strong it warms my belly. Thank you God for this blessing ☺️ I’m just so happy & can’t wait to dedicate everyday to being the best mommy I can be ♥️,” she said in her post.

The 28-year-old Riverdale actress just revealed that she is pregnant with a baby boy.
“Was debating keeping this part of my life hidden but I knew people would see pictures eventually with my belly & I wanted you guys to hear it from me 🥰,” Vanessa wrote on Instagram.
“I do want to keep this chapter of my life private but did want to be the first to share the news. I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January 💙 It’s almost like eveything I thought mattered in this life has completely changed,” she continued. “We’re here for such a greater purpose and life is so precious. I can’t believe how much growth & strength you’ve already given me as your mom. It’s like God knew I needed you, my angel. The universe works in mysterious ways but always times everything the way it was meant to be.”
