The Third 'Spider-Man' Movie Has Been Pushed Back

The Third 'Spider-Man' Movie Has Been Pushed Back

The next Spider-Man movie has been given a new release date once again!

The third installment, starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon, was originally set to come out in July 2021, but was pushed to November 2021 due to the pandemic.

Now, the film will be released around Christmas-time, on December 17, 2021, Variety reports.

The Marvel/Sony Pictures movie took up the date that was previously taken by the long-awaited Avatar sequel, which was also pushed back by a year.

Fans weren’t sure if another movie would be released as Disney and Sony had decided to split and not work together on another film. Luckily, the two studios finally reached an agreement.

Spider-Man will also appear in future Marvel films.

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it. Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously said.

Zendaya Teamed With 'Euphoria' Creator Sam Levinson For Secret Quarantine Film

Zendaya secretly filmed a new movie during quarantine!

It was just revealed that the 23-year-old actress re-teamed with her Euphoria creator Sam Levinson to create the secret project, titled Malcolm & Marie.

While no plot details have been revealed, the movie was filmed “June 17-July 2 at the Caterpillar House, an environmentally-conscious glass architectural marvel in Carmel, CA,” Deadline reports.

Zendaya and co-star John David Washington also serve as executive producers on the project, and it apparently has a number of social and pandemic themes.

Cast and crew were all sure to practice social distancing during production on the private property, and no more than 12 people were allowed on set at any given time.

Zendaya Talks Being a Light-Skinned Black Actress In Hollywood

Zendaya Talks Being a Light-Skinned Black Actress In Hollywood

Zendaya is opening up about not only being a young Black actress, but a light skinned Black actress in Hollywood.

The 23-year-old Euphoria star recently took part in a roundtable discussion with Variety, and other actresses, including Reese Witherspoon, Janelle Monae, and Jennifer Aniston.

During the discussion, Zendaya was asked if she still stands by when she said to her reps, “Even if the part calls for a white girl, put me up for it, get me in the room.”

“Absolutely. I also think it’s important being a light-skinned woman to recognize my privilege in that sense as well and make sure that I’m not taking up space where I don’t need to,” Zendaya said.

“I think that’s been a choice for myself. Our creator [Sam Levinson] wrote Rue based off his own experiences with addiction and he is a white man, so Rue could have been that. Rue had no description,” she continued. “So, I’m very grateful and hopefully I’ll be in a space like these ladies where I can create things and make space for women who look like me and women who don’t look like me. That’s the ultimate goal, to make room, [because] for a lot of Black creatives, it’s not a lack of talent but a lack of opportunity.”

Zendaya also opened up about the pressure she faces.

“I think, like a lot of artists, I’m my biggest critic, so some of it was internal — not wanting to make a mistake or worrying that maybe I didn’t have the room to make a mistake and wanting to make the right next move. But I also wanted to prove myself,” she said. “When Euphoria came along, I was very grateful because all those fears melted away and I felt like it was something that I had to be a part of. So, the fear became just, like, push yourself. If you go to work and you’re scared, that’s a good thing. You should be worried about whether you can do it.”

“It’s a constant thing. Being a young Disney actor, that’s one level, being a young Black woman is one level, and then being very hard on myself is another level. It’s also just a personal fear. I want to do a good job, and sometimes that can cause you to be fearful of things,” Zendaya added.

Zendaya Talks Differences of Filming 'Spider-Man' & 'Euphoria'

Zendaya Talks Differences of Filming 'Spider-Man' & 'Euphoria'

Zendaya is opening up about her work post-Disney Channel!

The 23-year-old actress currently stars as Rue in HBO’s Euphoria, and as MJ in the new Spider-Man movies.

In a recent actor on actor interview, Zendaya dished on the differences of filming each project.

“We got to travel so much for that last movie. I spent most of my time in London, and when you wake up at three in the morning, I’m literally running outside the Tower of London before it opens. I get to run from these killer drones that nobody can see, because they’re not there yet,” she told MJ Rodriguez for Variety.

“It’s massive. It’s very different from Euphoria, where it’s close and you have more time. Whereas on something like Spider-Man, it’s such a huge thing. And there’s so many secrets, and half of the script you can’t even read because there’s too many spoilers for, at the time, Endgame and all these other things,” Zendaya continued. “It’s like, you don’t really know what you’re doing. It’s just so big that you’re like, ‘I’m just going to figure it out as I go.’ And me swinging around, we did a real swing, but they didn’t end up using it. We ended up really just being carried maybe two feet off the ground.”

Spider-Man was one of the first movies that I did outside of Disney Channel. And yeah, I didn’t have much to do in the first movie, but I was so just excited to be doing the movie at all,” Zendaya said about her role. “And I was lucky because they already kind of wanted to re-create the character and turn her into a new version of what I think maybe the original Mary Jane character represented, and just do it in our own way in this Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

“I kind of came into it and there was already on the page a smart, quick, sharp young girl who comes off a bit quirky or offbeat. I have a lot of fun doing it. I like being able to do comedy and things that aren’t so heavy,” she added.
