“I think that within the first five pages, I wanted to do the movie and it was because of my character,” Alden recently told Collider. “It was really because of the opening monologue. There’s like narration and Richard [LaGravenese, director] has a really great understanding and knowledge of film in general and I felt a lot of the older films that I’ve grown up with, I felt that Ethan was a character out of some of those older films.
He added, “I liked this kind of Jimmy Stewart like get out of here and fight for it. That’s the kind of element to it and that’s definitely why I wanted to do it. I just had that thing where you feel good and you just get it–you get who the guy is.”

The 17-year-old actress plays Emily Asher in the movie, Ethan’s (Alden Ehrenreich) ex-girlfriend who hates Ethan and Lena (Alice Englert) and helps turn people against Lena.
“The only places to eat in St. Francisville were a near by gas station and Sonic that you had to risk your life and walk across the highway in order to get to,” Zoey recently told JJJ about filming in the small town in Louisiana.
She added, “The supermarket in the town over, still had packaging from the 60′s. There were more cows than people, and I loved it.”

The 20-year-old actor was joined on the carpet by Beautiful Creatures starlet Zoey Deutch and her mom Lea Thompson.
The night benefited the Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis and its Center Without Walls program which continues to raise funds in order to provide treatment and ultimately find a cure for MS. Guests also participated in a silent auction before enjoying a dinner gala featuring live musical performances by Fitz and The Tantrums, The Tenors and David Cook.
Zoey Deutch is heading down to New Orleans for Beautiful Creatures.
The 17-year-old actress will star as Emily Asher in the book-based movie, Variety reports. Emily is Ethan’s (Jack O’Connell) ex-girlfriend and the ringleader of the high school’s popular clique that conspires against Lena (Alice Englert).
We caught up with Zoey at the 2012 Kids Choice Awards where she dished about the new role.
“Next week I am going to New Orleans to shoot Beautiful Creatures with Jeremy Irons, Emma Thompson and Viola Davis – I am beyond excited and (looks to Avan Jogia) you’re gonna come visit!”
Zoey added, “I don’t know how it’s going to work out because I am a vegetarian and apparently it’s like MEAT! All he [Avan] does is eat meat, so he’s gonna be fine! I love how that’s my biggest concern, like I am moving away for two months but my biggest concern is where am I gonna eat?”
