Inside The 'Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure' Junket

The stars of Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure light up in these new pictures from the press junket held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Los Angeles earlier this month.

JJJ was one of the lucky ones who got to speak with the cast up close and personal. Check out what Ashley Tisdale (wearing a Miriam Haskell statement necklace), Cameron Goodman (in an Urban Outfitters dress) and Austin Butler had to say about the film and their characters:

Ashley on celebrating her birthday on set: “My birthday is in July and that week is the one you usually take off because of the Fourth of July. But we were actually working that week in Toronto, and the crew and everyone decorated my trailer throughout and it had all these princess props (laughs). Then, here’s the funny part, Austin, who had a day off, came on set and I saw him and jumped in his arms and said, ‘Oh my gosh, you came for my birthday!’ I was so excited and the whole crew heard this. They were all looking around and not telling me anything. Turns out, he was actually there for a scene (laughs).”

Austin on why Peyton is a good guy for Sharpay: “He grounds her. He sees through this exterior shell that she has. There’s this air about Sharpay that anyone can see and on the inside, she’s very honest and a little naive. He definitely sees through that and even when she is acting crazy, he can get to the real her.”

Cameron on her inspirations for Amber Lee Adams: “I love playing crazy. Amber Lee is really in her own world and she really does only care for herself. I’ve played a similar character like her before and I think she just grew with me on every project I’ve taken on. She started off in another show — different situation, same attributes — and I also looked to Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls. I also just did Disaster Date on MTV and the character was over the top. I had this cupcake, zebra-print dress and was calling out ridiculous things, Amber Lee definitely grew from that too.”
