Rebecca Black Talks DigiTour, Taylor Swift & YouTube Collabs (JJJ Interview)

Rebecca Black is about to hit the road with DigiTour’s holiday-themed festival Slay Bells Fire & Ice!

The 18-year-old singer and YouTube sensation will be joining the cross-country tour, which runs from November 28th to December 23rd. It features other social stars including Sammy Wilk, Dylan Dauzat, Sam Pottorff and Kenny Holland.

We chatted with Rebecca to get the scoop on Slay Bells Fire & Ice, her new music, touring with Tay Swift and her holiday plans!

JJJ: What should your fans know before coming to Slay Bells Ice?

Rebecca Black: Everyone’s in for a real treat! There’s a bunch of great people on this tour and I know we’re all ready to have tons of fun with the crowd. I’m going to be trying out some new music I have been working on and really getting to experiment with different sounds. I’m also going to do a couple covers of songs I’m loving right now.

JJJ: What can fans expect from your new music you’ll be performing?

RB: I think this stuff is a lot different from what anyone’s expecting. The sound is pretty much a blend of the music I love to listen to and what feels authentic to me. Since I have been writing so much, It’s almost like with each song you get to learn a little bit more about me. My songs come from my own personal experiences and I can’t wait to share them.

JJJ: Are there going to be any on stage collaborations with your tour mates? If so, what are you going to do?

RB: Maybe! I’m about to be surrounded by a bunch of kids who love to do the same thing I do, so I know even if nothing happens on stage, you’re bound to see a couple of YouTube videos or Instagrams!

JJJ: What are some of the songs you plan on covering? How did you choose them?

RB: I don’t want to give too much away, but there may or may not be a mashup in the works of some of my all time favorite songs! I’m definitely putting my own spin on every cover I do.

JJJ: You recently shared a video where you talked about some of the best concerts you’ve been to – which has been your favorite and why?

RB: I’m a huge fan of festivals, so I’d have to say Coachella. It’s always sure to leave you with amazing memories, plus, you end up getting to see so many of your favorite artists in just one weekend!

JJJ: If you could perform any venue in the world, where would it be?

RB: Again, I’d say have to say Coachella! There’s something about being able to run around and dance on stage with thousands of people in sweltering heat that sounds like heaven on Earth to me. I think that would be reaching the ultimate state of cool.

JJJ: Who would be your dream tour mate?

RB: Honestly, I’d say any one of my friends. Being able to travel with the people you love could only make a tour even more special. Of course, if they’re all busy, it’d be hard to decline a Taylor Swift world tour!

JJJ: Since this is a holiday themed tour – what do you have planned for the holidays?

RB: So far, this tour is what I have planned! I come home on Christmas Eve though, so hopefully then I’ll get to relax and enjoy some time with my family.
