The 14-year-old, and youngest designer, was announced as the winner of the inaugural season of Project Runway Junior on Lifetime on Thursday night (February 4).
“It’s amazing to have my school, and family, and friends supporting me, and cheering me on, and have them have my back,” Maya told Toledo Blade. ”
As the winner, Maya receives a full scholarship to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, a Brother sewing and crafting studio, a feature in Seventeen magazine, and $25,000 to help launch her fashion line.
The other finalists, Samantha, Peytie and Zachary, placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively. Bella Thorne was the guest judge on the final show.
