12-Year-Old Pianist Joey Alexander Takes the Stage at Grammys 2016

Indonesian piano prodigy Joey Alexander took the stage for an epic performance during the 2016 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center on Monday (February 15) in Los Angeles.

The 12-year-old middle school student performed an original composition on the piano.

Not only did Joey get a standing ovation for his performance, but also performed earlier in the day at the during the Grammy Premiere Ceremony.

He was also nominated for two Grammys in the categories of Best Instrumental Jazz Album and Best Improvised Jazz Solo, making him one of the youngest performers to ever be nominated for a Grammy.
