'The Fosters' To Air Orlando Shooting PSA Ahead of Season Four Premiere

We’ve all seen the teasers, and the promos for The Fosters return on Monday, June 20th, and we know the episode centers on guns and shootings.

Just a week after the tragic Orlando shootings, the series will be airing a special PSA ahead of the episode, TVGuide reports. The episode will tackle gun violence and the trauma after Mariana’s (Cierra Ramirez) boyfriend Nick (Louis Hunter) steals his father’s gun and brings it to school.

Cierra and co-star Sherri Saum will deliver a special message dedicated to the victims of the Orlando attack.

“It’s something that’s happening so much it’s almost becoming normal,” executive producer Joanna Johnson recently shared. “It almost seems like a weekly occurrence that someone is taking a gun to school. We wanted to explore what the impact of this has on our schools and has on our kids.”

The Fosters returns Monday, June 20th @ 9PM ET/PT on Freeform.
