Bella Hadid's Mom Defends Her Nike Campaign After Meryl Davis' Comments

Bella Hadid‘s mom is defending her after she was called out by Olympic athlete Meryl Davis for her Nike campaign.

The Olympic figure skater thinks the athleticwear brands should only use athletes in their ad campaigns and she’s not happy with Nike for hiring Bella to model in a new campaign. She took to her social media page to share a collage featuring Bella in Nike, Kylie Jenner in Puma, and Aly Raisman in Reebok. She captioned the pic, “I’ll take the one promoted by the athlete please.”

Bella‘s mom Yolanda Hadid has come to her defense and told TMZ that her daughter competed in equestrian riding from when she was 3 until she was 15, when she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. She even had dreams of going to the Olympics in the sport.

“You obviously don’t have to be an athlete to wear or enjoy Nike wear,” Yolanda said.
