EXCLUSIVE: Meet JJJ's Musicians to Watch in 2017!

Sophia Kameron

How she got her start: “Music is the vehicle I use to express myself, so I started writing poems when I was young to help channel what I was feeling inside. Then when I got a little older, I learned to play the guitar and gradually my poems started to evolve into fully formed songs! Soon after, I started posting my songs and videos online and people from all over the world started telling me how much they love my music – fast forward to today and here I am touring across America with Digitour. It’s all happening so fast!”

Her biggest influences:Taylor Swift is my biggest inspiration by far because she is such a talented songwriter and performer. My second person would be Alessia Cara whose early fanbase grew from her YouTube channel at first. She’s a real testament to how an artist can cross-over from the online world and onto the radio. Plus she is such a humble and down to earth person, which I really respect!”

The story behind her song “Make It Look Easy”: “‘Make It Look Easy’ is about getting over someone special who lied, saying that you were the only one they were dating, when it turns out you really weren’t.”

One thing new fans should know: “I am just a regular teenage girl who experiences life the same way as everyone else and I hope I can be relatable and approachable to whomever comes across my music. Oh and my favorite guilty pleasures on the road are hot Cheetos and Smarties :)”

What’s coming up in 2017: “Hopefully a few exciting collaborations that I can’t talk about just yet and lots of new music!”
