This Year in Music: Our All-Time Favorite Lyrics of 2016

Despite the tragic and unfortunate events that have loomed over our heads like a dark cloud in 2016, no one can argue that the year had one heck of a soundtrack.

With new albums from Beyonce, Kanye, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna (among many, many others) we’ve been lucky enough to have music to turn to when we’ve felt our lowest, our giddiest, and our most apathetic.

We’ve had songs to listen to when we’ve shuddered with sobs beneath our covers, when we’ve never ever wanted to see that person ever again, and when we’ve felt hopeful, perhaps for the first time in a while.

Still, lists like these are subjective, so in the interest of mixing matters up, we’ve sorted our favorite song lyrics of the year into categories – most meaningful, best rhymes, most memorable, and funniest.
