Shawn Mendes recently gave the perfect wedding gift to some friends – an original, unreleased song!

The 18-year-old singer wrote the track specifically for them and performed it as they danced at the reception. How sweet is that?!

The song was called “Try My Best” and he wrote it based on a love letter the groom, his friend Matt, penned for the bride, Catherine, Billboard reported.

“So technically I’m not the only writer on this song,” Shawn told everyone in attendance, according to MTV. “Matt and I both wrote this for you, Catherine, so I hope you love it.”
