Shailene Woodley Leads Dakota Access Pipeline Protest at Sundance
Shailene Woodley is supporting Standing Rock event at Sundance!
The 25-year-old actress attended an anti-Dakota Access Pipeline event while at the Sundance Film Festival on Monday (January 23) at Zoom Restaurant in Park City, Utah.
Shailene also marched in a protest through the festival, leading to the Chase Sapphire Lounge.
During the event, Shailene called for the festival’s Robert Redford to cut relations with Sundance sponsor Chase Bank, who is funding the pipeline.
“There is a hypocrisy in talking about indigenous cultures but not doing anything, as a non-native ally, to stand with them,” Shailene explained.
Unfortunately, the following day President Donald Trump announced that he has signed orders to move forward with the construction of the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines.
Shailene has yet to speak out about the announcement but read what other celebrities have to say.
