'Switched at Birth' Star Reveals Favorite Storylines Ahead of Final Season Premiere

If you’ve been a die-hard fan of Switched At Birth for the past four years, you know that they don’t shy away from any issue.

For the final season, there’s going to a big one that star Vanessa Marano teases will bring all the supporting characters to the front.

But looking back at all the past seasons, what were the stories that spoke volumes to Vanessa?

“There are so many that I love. I loved our all ASL episode,” she revealed. “It’s one of my favorites that we’ve ever done. I also liked our What If episode too.”

Vanessa adds, “As far as the story lines go though, we’ve had a chance to do some really cool things on the show…it was interesting last season with the sexual assault storyline because of all of us being unsure about how everyone was going to react to it. Then there was a big reaction and people understood what we were going for and the story we were trying to tell which wasn’t black or white. I think what I love most about SAB is that we have an audience who goes along for the ride with us no matter what the storyline is.

“It’s hard to pick a favorite out of all of them just because we’ve had a great reaction from an audience who really allows us to dig deeper and deeper and let’s us try things that are different and I’m happy about that,” she continued.

“On most shows, a lot of the time the audience will give up on you the moment you try to step out of the box and we’re really fortunate that the people who watch SAB, stick with us and enjoy what we do.”
