OlderDemi Lovato's Date to Grammy 2017 Was Her Stepdad, Eddie
Aw, Demi Lovato shared one of the happiest nights of her life with her stepfather, Eddie De La Garza, at the 2017 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center on Sunday (February 12) in Los Angeles.
The 24-year-old Confident singer was nominated for her first-ever Grammy award — for Best Pop Vocal Album — and she was absolutely beaming on the red carpet.
Her stepfather, Eddie, couldn’t have been prouder.

“I’m very proud. Very proud and excited,” Eddie told ET on the red carpet. “I’m just trying to hold back tears, but I’m doing alright.”
Was Demi‘s mom, Dianna De La Garza bummed she didn’t get to go? Not at all, she even tweeted a picture of Demi and Eddie together with the caption: “Look! @ddlovato and Dad @redraider30 at the #GRAMMYs and @torikelly photobombs it! ????????????????????????”

Demi‘s biological father, Patrick Lovato — who was not a big part of her life growing up — died in 2013. Demi has called Eddie, who married her mom in 1995, “the greatest dad a girl could ever hope for.”
The Best Pop Vocal Album ultimately went to Adele‘s 25, but that didn’t make the night any less magical for Demi.
