Landry Bender, Ricky Garcia & 'Best Friends Whenever' Cast React To Show Cancellation

We are so sad to report that Best Friends Whenever will not be returning for a third season.

The show — starring Landry Bender, Lauren Taylor, twins Matthew and Ben Royer, Gus Kamp and Ricky Garcia — centered on BFFs Shelby and Cyd, who got time traveling super powers after a science experiment went wrong.

Landry wrote an emotional message on her Tumblr blog for her fans.

“As some of you may have heard, Best Friends Whenever won’t be going any further. Even though we’ve known this for a couple of months now, it doesn’t make it hurt any less,” she started.

“This show was my high school, the best one a girl could dream of. And even though we’ll all move on to different projects, being able to say I grew up with people is something I’ll forever cherish,” Landry added. “I of course can’t give enough thank you’s to you guys for the constant love – truly. We grew a following from nothing which is very rare for a show with quirky teenagers and special effects to do. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.”

I think for everyone, it's hard to say BFW has been canceled. I'd like to thank Jed and Scott for giving me such an incredible experience on the show. I'd also like to thank my co stars, Landry, Gus, Ricky, Lauren, Bryana, and my bro Matt for making these two seasons as enjoyable as possible, and last but definitely not least the fans. You guys are the reason we came to be such an amazing show. Thank you everyone! #BestFriendsWhenever

I am sorry to share that #BestFriendsWhenever has not been renewed for season 3. As I am saddened by this news, it does not stop me from remembering the great friendships and memories I made as part of this wonderful project. First off I would like to thank Jed and Scott for giving my brother and I a chance to play Bret and Chet and for being amazing mentors. Next, I would like to thank our amazing crew and writing staff who week by week put in so much work to make this show absolutely amazing. I would also like to say thanks to my wonderful co stars who made this job so enjoyable week after week. Last but not least, our amazing fans. found this lil gem from our finale watch party. i'm so blessed to have been apart of the Best Friends Whenever family. I love these guys with all of my heart. Thank you Jed & Scott for allowing me the opportunity to be on this journey and to be apart of a season that sent a beautiful message for girls, it was an honor to play Daisy. a literal dream role. you guys are the hardest working most creative talented people i know. Thank you to all the incredible writers who put in countless hours into every episode. to the crew who made everything possible, the cast who welcomed me in with open arms and made me feel like i fit in from the start, and to you guys, for supporting and welcoming me in as well. It means the world, ill never forget this experience. these people. to be able to grow as not only an actress but as a person, surrounded by these guys, SOOO amazing. ahhhh i love you guys so so so much. ??
