'Liv & Maddie's Showrunners Share First Impressions of Dove Cameron, Joey Bragg & Tenzing Norgay Trainor

“Tenzing, the first time we met him, we had to ask about his name. He widely looked at us and gave us the story about his grandfather [Tenzing Norgay Trainor]… and then he turns and walks out the door,” John says of his audition.

Ron added, “When Tenzing would audition, he would just sparkle. But when he wasn’t in the scene, he was painfully shy…so, when we asked him questions like about his name, and stuff like that. He didn’t really realize how remarkable that story is and he would downplay it and walk out of the room. Every person in that room was like ‘What did we just say?’”

If you don’t know, Tenzing is the grandson of Tenzing Norgay (hence, his name), who was the Nepali Sherpa mountaineer who aided Sir Edmund Hillary in his trek to be the first humans at the top of Mt. Everest.
