Ed Sheeran is Not Going to Die on 'Game of Thrones'!

An Ed Sheeran surprise bomb was dropped last month when we learned he was going to guest star on Game of Thrones this season.

And now the “Shape of You” singer is giving us a little taste of what’s to come.

Though most of his character is wrapped in mystery, here’s what we know: Ed is not going to die in the show!

“I do know which role I am going to play,” Ed, who is listed as an actor in one episode of GOT on IMDB.com, explained to The Daily Star. “I don’t die in it. I don’t die.”

He went on to dish, “I’m only in it for like five minutes.”

Ed says that being on the show has been kind of a life-long dream of his.

“My friend guested in it in 2012 and I remember I was on tour with him and he was like: ‘Right, I’ve got a guest slot on Game Of Thrones,’” Ed explained about his friend Snow Patrol‘s Gary Lightbody. To which Ed immediately responded, “I remember saying: ‘You got to get me on it at some point.’”

“It’s been five years so it’s finally come true,” he proclaimed.
