Rowan Blanchard's Report Card Fail Didn't Stop Her!

Rowan Blanchard was a guest star on Tavi Gevinson‘s MTV Rookie podcast, and the two got real about not being perfect.

Listening to Tavi chat with Girl Meet’s World‘s Rowan (and Heben Nigatu and Tracy Clayton of the “Another Round” podcast) about life is like listening to best friends sort out the world.

So no surprise the conversation got personal.

Rowan admitted that the first time she felt a personal fail in school was in the sixth grade.

“I was that teacher’s pet student that was always the A student, always did the extra credit,” she revealed in the section, which starts around the 37:44 mark. “And then in sixth grade for the first time I got a D, because I didn’t study.”

The 15-year-old actress explained she was traumatized because her dog was dying.

“It was horrible times,” Ro said. “If I don’t get 90 percent at least on everything then am I even a good person?”

Tavi had the perfect pick-me-up: “You don’t have to be perfect to be loved or to be a good friend or even a good student.”
