Who she is: Alexandra Feodorovna was Empress of Russia, the last tsarina and wife of Nicholas II, the last ruler of the Russian Empire. She was also the mother of the last Grand Duchessses – Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia. (just think of those storylines!)

Sadly, she and her family were murdered by the Bolsheviks in 1918.

Originally known as Alix of Hesse and by Rhine, she was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom.
