There’s a lot to pick up on — after all, the 24-year-old singer plays every major character in the video, starring as a high school student, her own parents, and the Farrah Fawcett lookalike she has a crush on all at once
But Teen Vogue picked up on a subtle easter egg in the video: Selena nods to one of her most popular Instagrams!
Last summer, Selena posted an Instagram of herself sipping out of a Coca-Cola bottle with a straw, and it amassed nearly seven million likes.
In the “Bad Liar” video, Selena‘s male character (the protagonist’s father) pauses and sips a Coca-Cola out of a straw. It’s a super subtle, but recognizable, nod to the popular Instagram.
