Kelsea Ballerini Was Really Bitter When She Wrote 'Legends'

We could listen to Kelsea Ballerini‘s new single “Legends” all day long, so it’s hard to believe that she was actually bitter when she wrote it.

The 23-year-old country singer explained to Fox News that’s exactly how she felt.

“When I wrote ['Legends'], it was in a break up,” she revealed. “It was in this period of my life where I had so much bitterness. It was a really healing song for me at the time.”

Now, since she’s gotten engaged to Aussie country singer Morgan Evans, Kelsea‘s had a chance to look back on it, and see it’s actually a brave and beautiful love song.

“When we were picking it as a single I thought, ‘Hey, is this something that you still relate to that you can sing and still have truth in it?’” she asked herself then.

The answer, is yes.
