Yara Shahidi Will Take a Gap Year Before Starting Harvard

Yara Shahidi is one amazing multi-tasker.

On top of her emerging acting career, she has a brand new series, AND has way too many philanthropic efforts to count, so it’s a no-brainer why the 17-year-old actress is taking a gap year before starting her education at Harvard University.

When she gets there though, Yara actually plans to double major in social studies and African-American studies.

Yara is set to start filming on her black-ish spinoff show, College-ish, soon.

The series, which will air on Freeform, will center on Zoey, as she takes on the current issues facing students and administrators in the world of higher education.
