OlderGabi DeMartino Gets Real About Trolls Who Bully Her Online
Twins and social stars Niki and Gabi have spoken out about bullying before, vlogging about their negative joint experience in middle school and high school.
Now, Gabi is taking to Twitter to speak out about how the issue affects her online.
“If i blocked you, i promise it wasn’t for no reason,” the 22-year-old “RU” singer writes. “Growing up i dealt w a lot of bullying & now im picking + choosing what to deal with.”
She then calls out trolls who will insult her online, then pretend it wasn’t them.
“‘Sorry that wasn’t me that was my sister on my account.. or brother.. or sister.. or friend!’ i prefer an actual apology than a lie.”
Gabi is absolutely right. Hiding behind a keyboard doesn’t making bullying any less real. Before you send a rude comment, remember that the person you are sending it to very well may see it, and no level of fame makes cruelty okay.
