OlderChloe Bennet Bit Back Hard at Troll Who Criticized Her For Changing Her Professional Last Name
Chloe Bennet shut down an online troll this week and it will make you you get up on your feet and start throwing her parades.
After praising Ed Skrein for stepping down from the Hellboy reboot, where the character has Asian roots, a troll asked why the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress, as an Asian-American, changed her own name.
“Changing my last name doesn’t change the fact that my BLOOD is half Chinese, that I lived in China, speak Mandarin, or that I was culturally raised both American and Chinese,” Chloe replied. “It means I had pay my rent, and Hollywood is racist and wouldn’t cast me with a last name that made them uncomfortable.”
She added, “I’m doing everything I can, with the platform I have, to make sure no one has to change their name again, just so they can get work. So kindly love, f�k off.”
Kelsey Chow, now known as Kelsey Asbille, also changed her name because of this.
