Madelaine Petsch Started Her Youtube Channel to Show Fans She's 'a Weirdo'

Riverdale actress Madelaine Petsch does such a remarkable job playing Cheryl Blossom that sometimes fans struggle to separate her from her icy character.

“I would read photos I was tagged in and people would be like, ‘She’s pretty, but she looks like a b-tch,’” Madelaine told WWD in an interview.

“It became the popular thought and I was like, ‘You know what, I’m going to nip this in the bud right now and I’m going to start a YouTube channel so people can get to know that I’m a weirdo.’”

The 23-year-old wanted to show her fans her true personality, and that it does not reflect that of complex antihero Cheryl.

“Sometimes people have a hard time separating the actor from the character and that’s totally understandable, but my job is to show them that I’m not that person,” she continued. “That’s what the YouTube is all about. And that’s what good writing is, too. Obviously, I’m doing my job right if people actually believe it.”

The venture is definitely working. After all, no fan can watch Madelaine play best friend tag with co-star Vanessa Morgan and not come out loving her.
