The 29-year-old Young & Hungry actress took to Twitter today to address a harmful and long-lasting stereotype that women can’t seem to shake: that female friendships are somehow spiteful or centered around tearing each other down.

“Dispel the myth that female friendships must be catty, toxic, and full of drama,” she tweeted. “It’s a false narrative designed to keep us down.”

We couldn’t agree with her more. Female friendships can be powerful, positive, and life-changing, and to pretend otherwise is not just problematic: it’s false.
