'Black Lightning' Is About Finding Your Own Super Power, Makes Debut on The CW Tonight!
Black Lightning is officially suited up and ready to go for the premiere tonight on The CW.
The series, which centers on Jefferson Pierce, as he comes out of hero retirement to defend his community, is focusing a lot on family and even more on finding your own super power.
Co-creator Mara Brock Akil told ET that the show is “uniquely a celebration of family, a celebration of black culture, [and] it is a story for all of us, because we do have to figure out what is our own super power, and accept who we are.”
She adds, “It’s not always going to be easy to get out there and be a hero, but I think through the example of these characters, people will want to.”
Black Lightning premieres TONIGHT @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW.
