Melissa Benoist Reveals What First Drew Her to Her 'Waco' Character Rachel

Melissa Benoist shows off the chic back details of her pink dress at the premiere of Waco held at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Monday night (January 22) in New York City.

The 29-year-old actress wore a eye catching pink Solace London dress for the event.

Speaking about her character in the miniseries, Melissa opened up about what initially drew her to the character.

“Rachel still feels very enigmatic to me and there wasn’t a lot of concrete material for me to look at so a lot of it was me and Taylor [Kitsch] on the day sort of talking through things.”

Melissa adds, “What struck me the most and what really intensely drew me to her were the pictures that I saw and this woman I don’t I don’t think she had any frills about her and very stoic and strong.”

“I sense that she had a lot of pride in her position and and her relationship with David and she might have been one of the few women he listened to or she could talk to him and…she had some sway there. It was fun to explore that relationship.”

Waco premieres on Wednesday, January 24th on Paramount Network.
