Bella Thorne Hopes The #MeToo Movement Actually Does Make a Difference

Since coming forward with her own sexual assault story, Bella Thorne is talking about the #MeToo movement that’s shaping 2018.

Speaking with People recently, the Famous in Love star hopes that the initiative really does work and everyone is held accountable for their actions.

“Do I see that men are gonna be less abusive to women? In that aspect, I don’t know,” she admitted. “I love the hashtag, I love the fact that all these girls can feel like they have someone else to talk to. I think it’s amazing.”

“But also we need to go one step further than that,” Bella adds.

“That’s one of those things I don’t love about social media. Something can be a big deal at the time and then nothing happens. Nothing gets done except for the press and the hashtags and some of the comments,” she shares, hoping that it’s not just a movement online, but that also makes moves in reality.

Bella continues, “And then after that it’s like poof where did that problem go? The problem is still there. There has to be something we can do to make some kind of real difference.”
