Peyton Elizabeth Lee's Acting Idol Anne Hathaway Pops Up in Tonight's 'Andi Mack'

Terri Minsky is dropping little clues all over tonight’s special one-hour episode of Andi Mack.

On top of including a lot of bar mitzvah traditions from Joshua Rush‘s own experiences, the creator is also dropping a cool caricature of Anne Hathaway in the episode.

Anne just happens to be one of Peyton Elizabeth Lee‘s acting idols.

“That went back to Peyton’s audition,” Terri says. “I can be very sentimental and I just remember knowing that we had found [the character] ‘Andi Mack.’ I knew that we were going to make the show because we had found her.”

She continues, “I don’t remember everything Peyton said [about Anne Hathaway], but I remember that she said Anne Hathaway was her favorite actress. Peyton was saying, ‘Don’t you think she’s brilliant? Isn’t she beautiful?’ It was the way she adored Anne that made me feel attached to Peyton.”

“I was in the room with this girl who was going to make this show come true, and she said Anne Hathaway was her role model. I came to a point in the script where I needed the name of an actress, and I said ‘I’m going to put Anne Hathaway there!’”

Andi Mack airs TONIGHT @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.
