'Andi Mack' & '13 Reasons Why' Receive Television Academy Honors

Congratulations are in order for the casts and crews of Disney Channel’s Andi Mack and Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why!

It was just announced that the series are among the recipients of the 2018 Television Academy Honors, which will be held on May 31 at NeueHouse Hollywood, Deadline reports.

The shows are being honored for inspiring social change, specifically “addressing the complex challenges and important social issues facing society in a compelling and impactful way.”

Andi Mack “presents stories and characters that are relevant to kids’ lives and reflect the real world while helping them realize they are not alone in their journeys of self-discovery,” while 13 Reasons Why “weaves an intricate and heart-wrenching story of teenage life that dramatically increased discussion and awareness about teen mental health and suicide.”
