Niall Horan Wrote Certain Songs on 'Flicker' To Help Fans Come Out Of Their Shells
Niall Horan heads arrives for his appearance on the Late Late Show hosted by James Cordon in London, England on Monday afternoon (June 18).
The 24-year-old musician recently spoke with Coup de Main magazine about his songwriting and how with certain songs, he wanted fans to come out of their shell and be 100% theirselves.
“I’ve had it in relationships where they’re fine with me, and then they go and are around other people and were a completely different person…[they] feel like they have to make friends and be someone else, which should definitely not be the thing. You have to be yourself 100% of the time.”
Niall also adds that you shouldn’t be afraid to show the real you: “In ‘Mirrors’, it was kind of like what we’re talking about, having to try and make friends and not being happy within yourself.”
“…I know it resonates to a lot of young girls out there and just people in general that are struggling with that kind of thing – you go back to your room, and you’re hiding yourself from the world because you don’t want them to see the real you, which again, shouldn’t be the case.”
