5 Seconds of Summer Could Make History With New Album 'Youngblood'

5 Seconds of Summer are on the verge of making chart history this week with their newest album, Youngblood.

Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Michael Clifford and Ashton Irwin could be the first ever band to have each of their albums debut at number 1 on the Billboard charts.

Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s surprise album is the only thing that might get in the way of that.

The guys have been tweeting loads of thanks to their fans for all the support for their new album, even if they don’t get that #1.

“I am have a solitary moment of great-fullness, and I am letting go of the numbers games that come with art sometimes,” Ashton wrote on Twitter. “A number 1 album would be amazing. But at the heart of this incredible situation, I am just happy people are listening. Thank you everyone for just.. listening”

However, Michael is kind of stoked about the numbers and the potential to make chart history.

He added, “to think that 4 dudes from Western Sydney could even have a chance against two of the most successful artists of all time is insane. we would be the first band in history to have our first three albums go #1 in the US. we are so close. 5sos fam for life.”

Crossing fingers for the guys!
