Collider is reporting that the 21-year-old singer is up for the role of Tristan, who in the books was male, but has been turned female for the upcoming movie.

Author and executive producer on the film, Anna Todd, confirmed the change in a recent Q&A signing event.

After centers on Tessa (Josephine Langford), a “good girl” who embarks on a journey of self-discovery and sexual awakening upon entering college, where she meets brooding rebel Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes Tiffin).
