Maia Mitchell Dishes About Working With KJ Apa on 'The Last Summer': 'He's Great To Work With'

Maia Mitchell is opening up a bit more about her upcoming movie with KJ Apa, The Last Summer.

In a new interview with Her Campus, the 24-year-old actress dished on working with the hunky Riverdale star and more about her character.

“I play Phoebe…and she’s the love interest for KJ Apa’s character, Griffin,” Maia explains. “The structure of the movie allows for a lot of different storylines and the love stories that kind of interconnect.”

She continues, “Phoebe is heading toward going to NYU, and she’s spending the summer to make a documentary. It’s a really sweet story.”

And working with KJ wasn’t the worst job in the world either.

“KJ’s great to work with…KJ’s great, he’s talented,” Maia says. “I never worked with anyone else really. There are so many different storylines, so I feel like when I see the film it’s going to be a surprise. It was a really fun time.”

The Last Summer is set to premiere on Netflix.
