Ryan Potter Reveals That 'Titans' Inspiration 'Teen Titans' Helped Him During His Childhood

Ryan Potter joins his Titans cast mates during 2018 New York Comic Con held at Javits Center on Friday (October 5) in New York City.

The 23-year-old actor, who plays Beast Boy in the series, chatted up the dark DC Universe show along side Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Alan Ritchson, Minka Kelly, and Teagan Croft.

Speaking with Syfy Wire, Ryan revealed that he related to the show a lot since the inspiration, Teen Titans, played a big part in his childhood.

“I grew up with the Teen Titans,” he shared. “When I moved from Japan to America, Teen Titans was the first animated series that I fell in love with.”

Ryan added, “The animation style was similar to that of something I watched back home, and Beast Boy doesn’t fit into society. But his attempt, through pop culture, to assimilate with friends, I took that as a model to make friends when I did speak English.”

DC Universe’s Titans premieres on DC Universe on October 12th.
