'Legacies' Will Bring Back Miss Mystic Falls Pageant

The Miss Mystic Falls pageant is coming back to the Vampire Diaries fandom on Legacies!

Showrunner Julie Plec opened up about the pageant making a come back on the new series, which premieres this week on The CW.

“We are just now sitting down to start talking about Miss Mystic Falls,” she shared with TV Guide. “We’ve really enjoyed incorporating some of the traditions that we established over the course of The Vampire Diaries… and who doesn’t love a good, totally sexist, dated beauty pageant?”

Former Miss Mystic Falls title holder Caroline Forbes’ twin daughters are interested in reclaiming the title – each for different reasons.

“Each girl has really sort of been on a journey over the course of the season, and their feelings about this pageant aren’t necessarily what you might think,” Julie adds. “Certainly we know Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell) has never once in her life ever wanted to wear a beauty crown, and when things take a turn in her life, she just might find herself smack in the middle of the competition.”

Legacies debuts on Thursday, October 25th.
